Back to the Basics

colorbook

As children, we spend a good amount of time coloring. We have coloring books, crayons, markers, colored pencils and probably anything we can use to color with. Most of the time we stop enjoying coloring for fun and are expected to use coloring for school projects. After awhile we just stop coloring all together because we become so busy with work, school and life in general.

I stopped coloring many years ago but recently got back into it because of my daughter. My little on, Riley, loves to color. Any chance she gets she will find anything to use for coloring. Riley always says “momma color”, so I sit down and color with her.

One day we were at the store and I saw that they sold adult coloring books. They had so many different styles and designs. Some come with a couple of colored pencils or you can purchase them separately. There are also coloring books that are character based from certain books and movies. After a few months of seeing and hearing about these coloring books around I decided to go ahead and purchase one.

color2I am so glad I decided to pick up this book. I have noticed that when I sit down and color for a bit, I am more relaxed. When I am stressed I like to color for a little bit to de-stress and enjoy a little time to myself.

If you enjoy coloring I recommend picking one of these books up for yourself! Let me know in the comments what you think of  adult coloring books!
