Coffee Chats Saturday

Happy Saturday! How was your week? Mine has been pretty good! I’ve managed to get my workouts in every day and my hubby came home early from work one day so I could go to a workout class! It was amazing and I’m still extremely sore. My hubby also didn’t have to go to drills (he’s in the military) this weekend which I’m so happy about! It’s his first weekend off in months so it’s been awesome so far!

As I sit here sipping my coffee, my son is in his jumpy bouncer toy (umm I have no idea what it’s called so I’m just going with it 😂) and my hubby and daughter are still asleep (it’s 9 am! I don’t remember the last time I slept til 9 am 🤔) I was thinking about mindfulness. This week has been a whirlwind for me. I’ve been really trying hard to focus on being more present and mindful of everything. Especially when it comes to eating. I am definitely the kind of girl who doesn’t have willpower or the ability to go with moderation. I also get stuck in my routines so much that my body craves certain things at certain times because I don’t change things up that often.

So the other night my hubby was working on his homework and I finished painting my nails (they were looking rough and this was the first free moment I had) so I went for my nightly snack. I love chia seed pudding so I did what I always do, added a little peanut butter and dark chocolate chips and enjoyed. Well once my hubby finished his schoolwork we turned on Netflix and for some reason I feel the need to eat when I watch a show. I know I’m not the only one, it’s a habit I’m trying to break. I of course go and grab my lightly salted pea crisp chip things (again I struggle with what things are called) and I proceeded to eat the entire bag. Anyone else do this or is it just me?

My goal for this next week is to not mindlessly snack. I want to be more mindful of what I am eating, how much, and how fast I’m eating. Sometimes it’s hard for us to slow things down to enjoy what’s in front of us. I have found that meditation has been a bit helpful with bringing me to the present moment. I am loving how I feel after, its just been a bit difficult to achieve with my littles not liking to sleep.

What are your ways to be more mindful? I Have been trying to stay off my phone and trying to enjoy playing with my kids and spending time with my hubby.

Alright I suppose that’s enough rambling for one day.

I hope you have an amazing Saturday and weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!
